Introduction:
My name is Louise Hansson and for 11 months I lived in Michigan, US as an Exchange Student.
My year in Michigan was really the best!! I lived with a wonderful hostfamily where all members had a heart made out of gold. They treated me like I was their own child. I had a fantastic brother and sister that I miss soo much now when I’m back in Sweden. Today I miss a part of my heart - that I left in the US. A part that belongs to all my new friends and family I’ve met during my Exchange Year.
My greatest memory is probably from HIGH SCHOOL STATE FINAL in American Football. I don’t think many exchange student will experience that their school will win State. : ) It was totally awesome!
I not so fun experience was when I tore my hamstring during a basketball game. I was the cheerleader and was laying on the floor hurt during the game. : ) I ended up with crutches and the hospital the next day.
Today I’ve been home in Sweden since July 7th 2009 and I can’t wait until I go to the US again. But then I will probably study in college.
I LOVE AMERICA! I LOVE HIGH SCHOOL!

I was actually an exchange student in Michigan not New York. I turned out to be a senior at my high school.
It´s called explorius. And they were really great. I ended up with an organisation called World Heritage in the us and they weren’t as great as explorius who helped me while I was in sweden.

No I did not. The thing is I had to pay a certain amount of money to the organisation and they organised my stay. They got my a hostfamily and flight tickets. But in a way i did study for free because the school didnt charge me. The money I payed to the organisation went to flight tickets and paychecks to those who helped me. I hope this answer is enough
Hi! I’m a norwegian girl travelling with explorius this year as well, and I got the same organisation in the us as you, World Heritage. Why were you unhappy with them? You can answer in swedish, I wrote in english in case you don’t understand norwegian

You just go to the exchange sites. you can search for them on google and I’m sure there will be plenty of choices. Then you just sign up on their page

to find out what it costs your better off just going on google, and searching for different exchange programs because all organisations are different prices and it all depends on where you want to go and for how long, etc any other questions just ask
Thanks. I’ve been searching, but the first program did not have the country I wanted to go to available. The second one cost $8,000 without extra fees! I’m going to keep searching and maybe I will change the country I want to go to. I hope you have fun here in America!
