I am considering loads of countries and I need to narrow them down

Question asked by Jess Beard on Dec 10th

Description:

I am only 13 so I have decided to start preparing for an exchange now (I know a bit early)but I feel mentally ready to go and if I decide as soon as possible I can learn the language and save up. I need to narrow down my list of possible countries from Argentina, Australia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Mexico, Moldova, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, USA. (and by the list probably isn't complete) to maybe 10 or 15. How can I do this?

haha that’s a good list of different countries. I would first think:
1. What culture do I want to experience?
2. Do I want to learn a second languag?
3. Weather?!
4. Different costs.

Hihaaa! I’m going to try to help you by what the exchange students told me and how I feel. :)

Argentina : That’s where I’ll be going so… GOOOOO !!!
Australia : I’ve been to Australia (Melbourne) for 3 weeks in February, and that was amazing! People are so opened, heartful and everything! And the life is really cool out there, the landscapes are beautiful! (and the kangaroos and koalas are the best animals haha)
Azerbaijan : Don’t know it at all, sorry :/
Belgium : They have good beer haha. Between France and Belgium I’ll choose France.
Brazil : Lenient country, dangerous :/
Bulgaria : Don’t know, sorry!
Canada : My godmother’s daughter went there on exchange and it was awesome apparently! Lots of different people, landscapes… Lots of different things in only one country!
Costa Rica : Don’t know either :/
Denmark : apparently good but I heard it was strict on school !
Ecuador : I know a girl from there who is actually in France and she introduced me her country and it really seems so amazing!
Finland : I wanted to go there first :p but apparently that’s the worse of the Scandinavian countries!
France : My home country so VERY GOOD haha!!!
Germany : Been there twice. Pretty cool, people are open-minded.
Hungary : Don’t know :/
India : VERY dangerous for girls in exchange. My district (Rotary) doesn’t send girls there anymore because there have been lots of problems.
Italy : Apparently it’s really good, a guy makes videos about exchange life and is actually there, he seems really happy haha
Mexico : VERY VERY dangerous. More than Brasil.
Moldova : I don’t know :/
New Zealand : I know a girl who’s there, and she says it’s the best place ever. It’s really beautiful, when you see her pictures it looks like a movie or a dream. :)
Norway : best and safest of the Scandinavian countries :)
Spain : Good but don’t know more, sorry!
Sweden : Good, just behind Norway and before Finland haha!
Switzerland : I don’t know, but it’s a small country so people are more likely to be narrow minded than in bigger countries (for example, an homosexual guy is there and he really feels bad with others because he’s insulted all the time).
Turkey: Dangerous for girls. My district doesn’t send girls thre anymore (same for India).
USA : NO, DON’T GO THERE, unless you’re very rich and you can give more money in secret to your governor. Otherwise, you’ll go to deep Texas or Nevada, and it’s way too far from being the American Dream and the perfect American way of life. Lots of people are disappointed because you don’t choose your city or state. The ones (richer) who go to California or NY are really happy etc, but the ones who go in the middle of the countryside where there’s nothing but a ranch which is their home and 2 horses and 3 pigs, they really regret their choice.

I hope it helps! :)

I'm sorry..
