Back home after a year as an exchange student

After been away from your home for a whole year it will probably be a very dazed experience to arrive home. Your native language might not be as easy to speak as you are used to and everything will feel well-known but at the same time new. You might be sad because you have left new friends, but at the same time happy to meet you old ones. The feelings when you get home are very different from people to people. But we can assure you it will be a time with many thoughts.

Most common is that it hasn’t happened much at home when it for you have been the most eventful year of your life. You have probably learnt a lot of yourself and matured a lot. It’s common to feel like you have grown away a bit from your old friends and that you get new friends more like you. As an exchange student you will change, but for sure in the god direction.

It is not always easy to have friends over distance. You will notice that time runs away and you haven’t talked to all friends that you would liked to.
